....a makeup-artist??So then what..??


I am surprised about some reactions I’ve gotten when I told some people that I’m studying to become a makeup-artist. Some would consider it a hobby , something you might do for fun, and I suppose some people might think I ´m doing it just to develop artistic makeup skills to benefit my own image.

If we look back into past generations, the professional beauty and image market would never predict how successful it would become in our actual days. the market has proved and shown itself to be of great relevance as people are now more concerned about their body-image.Lot’s of people might not know what a makeup-artist is.

Well, the makeup-artist profession has been in the market for quite a long time.
Even high class Egyptians had their own professional makeup artists about 5000 years ago.

Behind every movie star, top model or TV commercial, there is a makeup-artist in charged of making these people look fabulous to the public. The makeup process may seem to be a simple thing, but isn’t. I’ve already spent lots of hours studying and will continue to do so in order to accomplish my one year course ,and sometimes it’s just doesn’t feel enough.

Before I decided to begin my studies as a make-up artist I first considered getting a degree in nursery or visual merchandising, I entered both programs in Sweden but it just didn’t feel right to start. I also tried to work in the hospitality industry. Then I realised I should listen to my intuition and dedicate myself to ´´creation´´ as I had always been very creative. So last year I decided to dedicate 100% of my efforts to become makeup artist.

The beauty and image market is a difficult industry, you must be perseverant and love what you do to succeed, and most importantly, you have to believe 100% in what you are doing, if you do so ,there is a great possibility you will succeed .

If you don’t succeed, at least you tried .I might change my mind about my ideal profession some day but for now ,I’m loving it , and I also hope to continue progressing in my studies,

It’s all about believing and being optimistic, people who have succeeded in their lives, achieved what they wanted because they believed in their dream and were persistent, working hard in order to achieve their goal..
